Why Does Grace Baptist Church Exist?
...to glorify God by Knowing Him through His Word, Loving Him through worship and obedience, and Serving Him by caring for others. In short, Know God. Love God. Serve God.
Knowing God really ties together several key components. Of course, while this concept begins with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, knowing God implies a great deal more than just an initial relationship. We must learn to grow via effective personal Bible study, prayer, and other spiritual disciplines.
Loving God occurs when we respond to Him through a heart of obedience. We respond individually to Him via personal worship, but celebrate God and what He's done for us via corporate worship. Loving God is not entirely an end in itself; the key idea here is loving obedience.
Finally, serving God directs our efforts to be involved with our community. What we are looking at goes beyond fellowship and moves into intentionally caring for the needs of others. Ultimately, the goals of knowing and loving God find maturity in our care for others.
Our mission is not just a verbal document, but our mission provides an outline for us to "live it out" before others. All that we do as a church grows out of this statement. So, Grace Baptist Church exists to glorify God by Knowing Him . . . through His Word, Loving Him . . . through worship and obedience, and Serving Him . . . by caring for others. In short, Know God. Love God. Serve God.
