Goals and Purposes of the GBC Youth Ministry

Mission Statement: Know God and Make Him Known

Core Values: Salvation and Sanctification

Long-term Vision: Leadership Reproduction

Processes (Goals we are striving for) to accomplish our Purpose: Accountability, Discipleship, Evangelism, Fellowship, Ministry, Prayer, Teaching, and Worship

Avenues for accomplishing these goals: Sunday School (split Jr. and Sr. High) Sunday Nights (combined Jr. and Sr. High), Wednesday Nights (small groups), and Off Campus Activities

1.Sunday School – Prayer and Fellowship – We are learning how to pray through Scripture together. Beginning in January, we will pray together through the book of Psalms and also through the book Operation World by Jason Mandryk.

2.Sunday Nights – Worship and Teaching (Doctrine/Bible Study) – Nathaniel Haston will lead a praise band to prepare us to study the Word together. The messages will be designed to expand the students’ knowledge of the Bible in a way that motivates them to live out their faith.

3.Wednesday Nights – Accountability and Discipleship (Edification) – Small group leaders will direct an interactive time of discussion and questions, promote honesty and openness, help the students pursue growth and spiritual progress, and model for them how to value God above all else and see Him for who He is.

4.Off Campus Activities – Evangelism and Ministry (Outreach/Service) – These could be retreats, service projects, camps, mission trips, conferences, day trips, etc. These are our chances to be a light in a dark world, but also to promote personal responsibility among the teens.

Regular Weekly Schedule

Sunday School - Sundays - 9:30 am

Youth Service - Sundays - 6:00 pm

Small Groups - Wednesdays - 7 pm
